Too Much History: Don't even bother to read them. The message is in their number. What kind of a state has so much history it has to parade its markers along its verges in groups of five? Virginia suffers from so much history, it doesn't know what to do with it all. [1985]
Virginia has a rich and unique history to bring to the United States and our problem comes in deciding what we want to tell everyone about ourselves. We could probably have a museum every few miles along the major highways just detailing about half of what has been accomplished here and still need more of them to explain it all and give it justice.
